A cozy log cabin in the hills above Paradise Valley - minutes from fishing on the Yellowstone River. This hand-hewn log home is conveniently situated near the Paradise Valley, tucked up on the side of Antelope Butte on a twenty acre piece of property, offering beautiful mountain views. The wrap around deck looks down on Trail Creek where you'll be treated with close-up views of birds and other wildlife. This authentic Old West cabin is made of all handhewn, squared off logs, and is about 1300 square feet in size. With two bedrooms and two full baths - this home can accommodate up to six guests.

Relax on the deck and watch the amazing variety of birds in the bushes and willows along the creek. Take a morning stroll or bike ride on the quiet country roads, or a short drive to get to trails on National Forest land.

General location: 20 miles to Bozeman, 15 miles south of historic Livingston, a scenic 45 mile drive to Yellowstone National Park, and 6 miles to the small town of Emigrant on the Yellowstone River.

Bedrooms and baths: There are two bedrooms and two full baths in the home. The bedroom on the main floor of the cabin has a queen size bed; there is a full bath with tub and shower across the hall. The second bedroom is in an upstairs loft that is open over the living room, with a queen size bed and a twin bed. It has a large attached bath with a stall shower. The loft bedroom also has incredible views of the Absaroka Mountains through a big picture window. There is additional sleeping space on a sleeper sofa in the living-room.

Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped, including a gas range, coffee maker, microwave oven, blender and all the cookware and serving ware that you need.

Dining room: The dining room table seats six and there's additional seating for three at the kitchen bar/counter.

Living room: The comfortable living room has beautiful views, doors that open to the deck, and a TV with VCR and satellite service. There is also a small portable stereo with a CD player.

Setting, acreage, views: The home sits on twenty acres on the side of Antelope Butte, an open, meadow hillside where you can often see wildlife. Trail Creek is just down the hill from the cabin. You can sit on the deck and watch the birds in the willows along the creek. There are wonderful views of the impressive Absaroka Mountains across the Paradise Valley.

Outdoor amenities: Trail Creek Cabin has a two car garage and a large deck with nice deck furniture and a gas barbecue grill.

Services available: The rental rate includes an end of stay cleaning. For guests who stay two weeks or more, a weekly cleaning will be done. Additional housekeeping, as well as catering service, and grocery shopping can be arranged with a bit of prior notice.

Activities nearby: Enjoy hiking in the Absaroka and Gallatin Mountain Ranges, fishing on the Yellowstone River and its many spring creeks, exploring Yellowstone National Park, a memorable meal at the old Chico Hot Springs Resort (and a soak in the hot springs pool afterwards!), horseback riding and white-water rafting. Trail Creek Road is perfect for exploring the area by mountain bike or spending a lazy day reading on the deck and watching wildlife. There's so much to do!

Distance to town: It's about six miles to the tiny town of Emigrant with a small general store, gas station, saloon and post office. It is about twenty miles to the larger towns of Bozeman and Livingston.

Closest airport: Bozeman's Gallatin Field is about a 45 minute drive away.

Other details: No smoking is allowed in the home. No pets are allowed on the property or in the home without prior written approval. The home has a private line telephone, and a laundry room with a washer and dryer. This property has a fully equipped kitchen and includes good quality kitchen, bath/bed linens, and staples like paper goods, laundry, dish and hand soaps.

2006-2007 Rates

Winter (October 8 to December 19)
$1090 per week, $150 each additional night. Three night special for $590.

Spring (May 26 to June 15)
$1290 per week, $179 each additional night. Three night special for $690.

Summer (June 16 to September 11)
$1440 per week, $200 each additional night.

Fall (September 12 to October 7)
$1290 per week, $179 each additional night.

Tax: Seven percent accommodations tax will be added to all rentals less than 30 nights.

Security deposit: $500 - refunded within ten days of departure as long as the home is left in good shape.
